Why Wiccans Suck

This website dovetails nicely with my theory that a lot of the appeal of the Wiccan belief system is simply "victimhood appropriation".

i do not beleive the site is rude (check your this website link, it goes to a porn search) the actual why wiccan's suck website is actually not a wiccan bash (though gods knows thats fun to do too) it actually explains why all these dumb ass teenie bopper wanna be fluffbunnys are truly morons. and goes into some good detail about the real practice of wicca. i HIGHLY recommend it for anyone to learn from, new and all pagans alike.  as to the poster of the first comment, hey killer, maybe you should go learn to spell like a sort of educated adult instead of an inbred hick before you try to sound intelligent? who the bloody fuck spells witches whitches? i mean really now.  your daddy doink his sister before or after the dog got done with her? cause you are one ignorant assclown.

and yes i am a Pagan... and NO im not a wiccan.

"there so uneducated it's really stupid to belive in whitches and magic thats little kid stuf"  Listen you aperently dont know anything about wiccans.....

Wicca

Wicca is a nature religion based upon beliefs and rites believed to be rooted in ancient pagan practices. Wicca claims a direct connection to the ancient Celtic tradition, which is thought to be more in tune with natural forces than Christianity and other modern religions of the West. However, rather than see Wiccans as members of a religion, it might be more accurate to see them as sharing a spiritual basis in nature and natural phenomena. For Wiccans have no written creed which the orthodox must adhere to. Nor do they build stone temples or churches to worship in. They practice their rituals in the great outdoors: in parks, gardens, forests, yards or hillsides. According to the Wicca FAQ page,

if you want to know more retard and actually base your opinions on something you ignorant fool go here.....

In response to poster #1...

First of all it isn't Wicca or Paganism that is making your friends want to wear black and get tattoos and stuff, as you put it. Nor is it 'stupid'. Yes, many people, many teenagers who don't bother doing their research dabble and 'think' they are wiccan because they do all these spells and things... It's a real problem for both Pagans and non alike. The thing about Paganism is that you need to do your research yourself, find out where it originates, delve into history and always check your facts. It isn't something you should just blindly accept someone's word on. That's what bothers me about most people now who call themselves Wiccan or Pagan, they just take whatever someone tells them as blind-faced truth without doing their research on it, thus we've got a lot of false information and in some cases dangerous  information out there on the net.

The kind of Wiccan you are referring to is known as a 'fluffbunny' I never understood the term until recently, now I know and am glad of that. Knowledge is power as they say but here is a helpful link you may want to give your friends who are supposedly Wiccan. I can't see the "Why Wiccans Suck" page, but this one is helpful to ANYONE, any Pagan or Wiccan alike. It has some good points, not all that I agree on [such as the mixing pantheons is a bad thing] and such but here, have a good long read.

 http://davensjournal.com/index.htm?WMaF.xhtml&2

Before I knew any better I 'dabbled' myself back in HS when I was 13-15 range. I was stupid, ignorant and well of course naive. I had a rough experience back then with the occult in general but nowadays things are worse. There are people using the promise of being initiated into Wicca as a way to draw naive, ignorant girls into sex acts and the like. It's deplorable and despicable but it happens. It's why, for anyone, no matter the age, who wants to be serious about being a Pagan or learning the path... they need to research, always research, find your sources, confirm your own beliefs and thoughts, dont' just go blindly or you'll be adding to the problem rather than the solution. Take what everyone says with a grain of salt and question it, ask for resources or books of where the info comes from.

Please don't propagate this problem further, help to resolve it. Many teens dabble, only a few are 'real' so to speak. I have a couple of younger friends, age 15 or thereabouts. One is doing her research and following through with all of it, not one of those 'fluff bunny types' the other I know wants to learn but he just won't do it, he takes what his best friend says, knowing a lot of it is BS about the craft, but doesn't attempt to stop it nor learn for himself. It's sad really...

I think I've said more than enough to say my peace and i hope it helps any who wander across this article at a later time. I know that we will need to adapt and deal with the new generations attempting to learn Paganism and Wicca, even if they are way off the mark, but they'll learn for themselves through mistakes and true mentors, sooner or later or drop it completely when they realize how silly they are being. A few will realize and learn the truths, but all we can do is be patient and try and help with our knowledge.

One final note, above there I put a comment about 'dangerous information' out there. If you refer to the "What Makes a Fluff Bunny" article you'll see a good one on herbs...

Love, Light and Blessings to All,

~Adaria

Lol, nice comic.

This is the equal most ridiculus religion i've ever heard of (equal with scientology...baha!). Now I used to be "goth". This was a phase. This "religion" is a phase. And the sooner its over the less embarresing it is for the idiot who took part. People who read something on the net and go, "wow! That's soo true I bet thats the way everything really happened and I now fully believe in it, even though I only found it on google five minutes ago" really give me the shits. I used to think being goth was real too. It didn't bother me that the only people who were goth were teenagers going through a rebellious stage or loser adults, I felt it was real, lol. And this is how "wiccans" and "witches" feel. Everyone is a teenage girl between the ages of thirteen and seventeen, and they still don't get the hint... BUT THEY WILL. IF THERE IS ANY JUSTICE IN THE WORLD THEY WILL.

I have a friend who is a "witch". Now I would never tell her how stupid I think this is, that would be rude. But I can't wait for the day when we can both laugh about it.

Everyone is entitiled to their own childish phase, I used to want to be buddhist too. Still like that religion, but I'm not a kid anymore and I can't spend all my time on the net researching my "faith". Teenagers have too much time, the two people I know are wiccan spend all their time reading wicca books and looking on the net  for wicca stuff, thats why they think they believe in it. When they're in the real world and they have a partner and kids and a job, do you think they'll have the time for this? No. Do you think that they'll keep "believing" anyway? No.

IT'S A TEEN PHASE.

1st off I want to say I am an Eclectic Pagan.... meaning I draw what works for me from all of the Pagan Paths. I am not Wiccan although I do incorporate some of their ways in my practices. I have been a Practicing Eclectic Pagan since 1989 (obviously not a phase). My Husband and I are both Universal Ministers, We Co Head of a Pagan Monthly Social and are Elders of an Eclectic Pagan Covenant.

Wicca is a Pagan Path/Religion...Pagan Religions are Earth Based beliefs... These ways, practices and teachings existed before Christianity and many of the Christian Practices are based on Pagan beliefs.

The fact that you say all Wiccans are teens going through a phase bothers me. Are some of them teens?..yes...Are some of them doing it for the shock value?..yes..Are some them in a 'phase?..yes...but the majority of Wiccans,Druids Asatrus and other Pagan Religions are very connected to their choice of Spirituality..and are not just reading or researching it..they all living the Pagan ways, the same as a some 'Christians' live a Christian life.

The Earth Paths see Deity as a Female and Male for balance as opposed to the Christian 1 God... we feel that you must have balance in everything for things to continue on. So the majority of Pagans do not run around just going on about their Goddess.

In response to Comment #1... 'Magick' is not the same as 'magic' you see performed on stage. Which I'll admit is nothing but slight of hand and tricks. 'Magick' as practiced in the Pagan beliefs is the manipulation of energy to create a desired outcome.... spells are really no different from the Christian praying...we are putting our will or desire out there into the world in hopes that it comes about. As for your comment about your friend ...that he should put his 'stupid wicca crap' aside for your friendship.... A TRUE FRIEND would be a friend despite religious differences and would accept that it is HIS choice. I'm not saying you have to agree with his choice, but accept that it is his choice to make. I'm sure you have other things in common that you don't need to throw the relationship away just because of his Religious choice at this time.

Pagans hold their Rituals/Services where ever they are because we are never too far from nature. Any space we are in can be Sacred space. As for no Guidelines... Most Pagans follow the Rede ...in short form it is ...Do As Thou Will, And It Harm None ... the important part there being IT HARM NONE....the majority of Pagans run that through our heads before doing anything Magickally or in our everyday lives... because the majority of us believe strongly in Karma..that whatever we put out, positive or negative will come back to us.

I do not understand the need people have to tear something apart.... it usually is the ones who do not know all the facts that partake in these actions. I do not go to Christian sites and bash their beliefs because I believe that everyone has the right to find the Path that is right FOR THEM, even if it differs from my opinion. What I find interesting is that the Bible says that they should love everyone .... it doesn't seem very 'Christianly' to tear other people apart to me.

I feel that the greater All is 1 in the same, we just all find our own path to follow to get it and we call the All by different names. I judge people by their actions, not by what they call the All. How they conduct themselves as a friend, spouse, parent, human being is what is important. Everyone has to and HAS THE RIGHT TO find what path is best for them...for some it takes exploring many paths before they find the one for them...it is not always a 'phase'.... sometimes it is just a stop on their Spiritual search of what is right for them.

May Deity (by whatever name you choose to call it) watch over you!

Blessed Be,

Rev. April

I don't know why some people are so against wiccans in the first place and honestly I think you should accept your friends than try to change their beliefs. Its like discrimination. As being a wiccan myself I think that people judge our religion without knowing anything about it first.

First off the kids on this page should learn how to spell.
While I'm not Wiccan I have issues with the web site that needs to point out why certain folks practice the way they do. Or why they "suck"
I know many Catholics who don't have entire masses complaining about the Methodist and how they pray.
I mean come on. This is seventh grade level rubbish.
If this individual has an issue with a group of folks, here's some advice DON'T BECOME ONE OF THEM.

I honestly can hardly understand a word most of you are saying. I beg of you, for your own sake, take remedial spelling and grammar courses.

Wicca is not always a "teen phase." I did not become wiccan until I was well into college, and have been practicing well into my adulthood. Trust me, I am no teenager!

Our religion is based on nature, and various correspondences of herbs, colors, symbols, lunar phases, etc. I actually practice spells very seldom. I mostly just give thanks to my God and Goddess for the abundance of the earth, for the peace I find in spiritual herbalism, and the love in my life.

I do not believe nature and love to be childish, nor stupid.

Okay, Im thirteen years old, yes Im barely a teenager and I call myself pagan/wiccan. It is true that many "wiccans" really have no Idea what they are talking about and for them it may just be a phase or merely another word for goth. But I dotnt think that I am one of those people. I was brought up a christian and I discovered wicca through a variety of sources. After 3 months of research, (Not obsesive research just a few books and a couple web pages) I decided to be a wiccan. I have followed this path for a year and I have fallen in love with it. I go to a catholic school and I have many friends there. I know that they would never hate me or reject me because of my beliefs. It disturbs me greatly knowing someone could hate something so much that they so obviously know very little about. In conclusion I urge all people who harbor such hatred for any group, weather it be 2 people or 6 million people to get their facts strait, have a good reason for their opinion, and open their minds to the diversity of the world we all live in.

My wife has a friend that invite us to her halloween party every year.

Every year we find a different set of loosers on this party.

They have :

The vegan who eats peperoni pizza , she is a phisical trainer (had never worked as a physical trainer, and weights like 230 pounds)

The gay guy, who is around 33 , he is a "wizard" , he lives with his parents and NEVER     WORKED IN HIS LIFE.

The guy who is proud of his sword collection , (lord of the rings , he-man , Konnan etc) he is an experienced sword fighter and fights with his brother , he is like 29.

The guy who colplains about everything , every year the first 10 mins of his speach is  complains about his life , this one actually has a decent job.

Another gay guy who can't keep a job, he is 28 probably his reason , he likes to experiment different things (wallmart, foodlion , Mcdonalds , wendies etc)

The woman who expent 20 mins dancing with her ceremonial knife , triying to convince me that the air in the room was cooling down because the spell she was casting.

I was so bored that I had to say "ok I feel it" so she could stop dancing and reciting manbo jumbo.

Very hetereogenean group of people , the only commmon denominator? all of them are  Wiccans

Catjack, You can't jump to conclusions about something as diverse as a religion based on the behavior of a few morons. Im sorry that these people all appear to be losers and they all also happen to be wiccans. Im sure you can find a party full of massive losers that all happen to be christian, or jewish, or muslim or anything. There will always be people who are ignorant and I just wish that they would not make themselves look like fools when they represent something like wicca, a very misunderstood and diverse faith.

I  wish people would better represent themselves so they don't make millions of others look stupid.

You might be right , it is just it seems to much of a coinsidence for me to see that out of all the wiccans I know all of them are just loosers.

It seems to me that they have some kind of identification problem and they decide to pick wicca to solve it.

By the way , there is any relation between gypsy and wicca? I was approached by one when I was living in south America , that woman really had some weird supernatural stuff going on.
