I’ll be presenting the BlogMatrix Platform at TorDemoCamp5 tonight, if you’re downtown and are bit of a geek.

I quite enjoyed your presentation, sorry I didn't get a chance to hook up with you after, but I find that beer and biking don't mix all that well. (Uh, that's third-hand knowledge. I've never tried it myself.)

Anyways, I took a couple of notes on your presentation, if you're interested in some constructive criticism:

Have someone type for you. It seemed to go a bit smoother when people didn't have to think of sample data while talking about what was going on.

"Add Map" should try to throw the location in Google Maps, instead of starting at the highest-level view. You can find an example implementation from my user page at the Cycling Cog ( http://cyclingcog.net/user/13 ), you can click on the "Find Route" link ( http://tinyurl.com/ohoyg ) and follow my route to the office.

Adding events to Google Calendar should also add a link to the event in the BlogMatrix installation.

Finally, didn't you find it kind of odd that everything demoed was web-based?

Unfortunately, the demo came together a little too late to do the second person thing; otherwise -- exactly!

The map feature, when working correctly, actually starts at the last place you looked at which I think works pretty good in practice. There's lots of room for improvement and featurization here for sure though.

I guess the web is where apps are going these days. That's why Ruby is becoming so popular -- they have a very consistent message about how to do web apps. I know from personal experience that people are loathe to try installable apps because they're terrified of getting their machines infected with crap.

It's too bad you didn't stick around and go to the pub. Ah well. I used to drink beer and bike all the time in my callow youth :-)
